A Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers trip has been planned from the 9th to 12th April 2019 to Segorbe in the Provence of Castello which is about 2 hours drive from the Costa Blanca.
Segorbe has a historic centre and is positioned between two natural parks, Parc Natural de la Serra Calderona to the south and the Serra d’Espada to the north.
A half board package has been agreed in the comfortable three star Maria de Luna hotel with secure underground car parking, one car for each couple.
Three walks are planned. The walk on the first day is a moderate one taking about three and a half hours and will start at 1330. The second day is a figure of eight walk of 18k and should take about five and a half hours. Although deemed strenuous by length, the walk is more a moderately strenuous one. The third day features a more strenuous walk, of 13k and 450 metres, mostly uphill, and will involve a car shuttle. It should take about four and a quarter hours.
Nothing is planned yet for the last day but Segorbe itself is very interesting, the natural parks nearby are beautiful and Segunto too on the way home, has a Roman fort on the top of a hill and a restored Roman theatre. The trip has been organised by Adrian Murray with assistance from Martin Dunkley and ably supported by Tricia and Veronica.
The cost will be 273 euros per couple.
No bookings will be taken at this stage but please indicate interest in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Should the trip be oversubscribed then preference will be given to those who take an active part in the Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers.
