Mary Gough’s Malla de Llop circuit from Castell de Castells will be replaced by a new walk due to short daylight hours. Details as follows.
Name – Barranco Bitla and ruins of Santa Maira
Stats (not yet proven ! may even be slightly less than 10k – time is total time) – 10 kms. 500 mtrs 5 hrs. S/C/Scr
Description:- An adventurous scramble ( no exposure ) up a freshly opened (2017 ) barranco to reach a ‘ naturally ‘ made animal corral then return through the varying ruins of Santa Maira with spectacular 360 deg. views of the neighbouring mountain ridges.
Meeting Point Castell de Castells. GPS 38.730916 -0.201783. Immediately before entering Castell de Castells from direction Benichembla turn sharply R downhill past old washhouse and continue and park near sheep pens and bin compound.
This change of meeting point will take the pressure off space for those doing Alan’s walk and this new walk will enable participants to meet up at Bon Aire after the walk with those on Alan’s walk..
